The application is open: change the world through your idea
All young people aged 15-19-years can participate in Spring with an idea that strives to make the world a more hopeful place. During Spring, the participants take their first steps within ideation and innovations as well as learn essential work life skills. The main prize for the idea competition is a summer job for developing your idea.
The next world altering idea might be yours. We want to help you develop it further. The Spring idea competition, organized for the third time, encourages young people to identify problems in their everyday surroundings or global challenges and to develop solutions to these from their perspective. The competition aims to strengthen the future belief and agency of young people.
The idea competition is meant for young people aged 15-19 and anyone can participate in a team of 3 to 5 persons. The Spring inspirational library will help you find your idea; this is a good place to start. The idea guide will give you additional support for taking the first steps on your ideation journey. Finally, before sending in your application, it is recommended to take a look at the competition schedule and participation instructions.
The Spring team will be visiting schools during the autumn of 2024, presenting the idea competition and encouraging students to develop their ideas. A Spring idea event will be hosted in Helsinki, Tampere, and Turku, where participants have the opportunity to find teammates with similar interests and take a deep dive into ideation.

The winners will be awarded with a summer job and a study trip to Europe
Last year, Spring inspired thousands of young people to develop ideas in school and in their free time. A total of 159 teams from 40 different locations sent in their ideas and participated in the competition. The Spring jury chose the 12 most promising teams for the Spring idea weekend, where they developed their ideas further with the support of experts. Six teams were chosen to the final and the three winning teams were chosen by public vote and published in May. The winning ideas make it easier to find hobbies and friends, utilize AI for restoring peatlands, and burst opinion bubbles from young people’s perspectives.
“We’ve learned a lot! The meetings with experts have given us the needed support to clarify our idea. They have also offered interesting life-lessons and great contacts for the future.”, says the Kupa-team of their summer job.
