ThriftySwipe: “We got to experience working life”

ThriftySwipe was one of the three winners of Spring 2025. The winning teams developed their ideas during a unique summer job with the support of industry experts and the Spring team. The knowledge and experiences of entrepreneurship and social impact gained from the idea competition and summer job will carry the young innovators far into the future.

Your idea with one sentence: A fashion app that helps users find second-hand clothes that match their personal style by utilizing a swipe-function. 

What has been the best thing about your summer job? 

The Lisbon trip, gaining so much more experience and networking! 

Which experts made the biggest impression on you, and why? 

Mikki Inkeroinen from Marimekko, because he asked us questions about the idea that we would have never thought about. He gave us great advice and guided us going forward. 

What was the most challenging part of your summer job, and how did you overcome it? 

Pitching at the final event, hahaha. We overcame it by practice and repetition. Luckily, we rehearsed during the Spring idea weekend and in Lisbon. 

How did the summer job make you feel? 

It was a great experience. We got to experience working life. We learned so much and gained new experiences. Working for a whole month and meeting important people was a really great opportunity for us.
