THIS IS SPRING – THE IDEA COMPETITION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 15–19
Young people aged 15-19 can participate in Spring in teams of 3-5 persons as a part of their studies or during leisure time. Apply to the idea competition with an idea that strengthens your belief in the future; the idea can aim to solve a major international problem, answer a local question, or create completely new opportunities. The prize for winning Spring is a summer job and an inspirational study visit abroad, during which you develop your idea into something concrete.

HOW SPRING WORKS
Learn how to create ideas and change the world. The best ideas are awarded with a summer job and a study trip to London.
1. APPLICATION PERIOD
Gather a team of 3-5 persons and create your own idea that makes the world a better and more hopeful place.
2. IDEA WEEKEND
Out of all the applicants, twelve teams are invited to a idea weekend in Helsinki, where the participants will develop their ideas with the support of the best experts in Finland.
3. FINAL
Six teams will proceed to the final, and the three winning teams will be selected through a public vote for all young people in Finland. The winning teams are awarded with a summer job and a study trip to London.
4. SUMMER JOB AND STUDY TRIP TO LONDON
During the summer job, the Spring-winners will develop their ideas and watch them turn into reality.

Spring is an opportunity to discuss relevant topics through a creative and solution oriented way of work. We provide teachers with materials, which can be utilized to inspire students to ideate a more hopeful future and to participate in the idea competition.

Who is the Spring Idea Competition for?
Spring is an idea competition for young people aged 15–19. You can participate in teams of 3–5 people, either as a part of schoolwork or during your free time.
How do you participate in the competition?
You can enter Spring by filling out the idea form during the application period. The Spring team selects the 12 most promising ideas to proceed in the competition. These teams are invited to the Spring Idea Weekend, from which six ideas will advance to the competition final.
When is the next application period?
The application period for Spring 2026 is open from 8.8.2025 to 31.12.2025.
