Enter your idea to Spring and change the world
All young people aged 15–19 years can enter the Spring Idea Competition with an idea that makes the world a better and more hopeful place. The three winnings teams will be awarded with a summer job and a study trip to London, during which you develop your idea into reality.
Do you have an idea that might change the world? We want to help you develop it further! The Spring Idea Competition encourages you to identify local issues as well as global challenges and to develop solutions to these problems.
You can participate in a team of 3–5 people. All young people aged 15–19 in Finland are eligible to participate. You can enter your idea in Finnish, Swedish, or English.

My skills in public speaking have developed a lot as well, since we’ve had the priviledge to present our idea in various situations ranging from speaking with experts in Finland to visiting Startup Hubs in Lisbon. Spring is produced by the Children and Youth Foundation. No costs will fall upon the participants of the competition. The Children and Youth Foundation is responsible for all arrangements related to the Idea Competition.
The Spring Idea Competition is supported by Saastamoinen foundation, Yksityisyrittäjäin säätiö, UPM, and Jenny and Antti Wihuri foundation.
Spring schedule 2026
The stages of the competition
- Participate by entering your idea during the application period 8.8.2025—31.12.2025. Your idea can be found in your every day life or global challenges and possibilities. Find inspiration from our inspirational cards. Remember to read the rules of the competition as well.
- The Spring team selects the 12 most potential ideas to proceed in the competition. These teams will be invited to the Spring Idea Weekend in Helsinki on 13.-15.3.2026. During the weekend, the teams will develop their ideas further. An expert jury will select six ideas to advance to the competition finals.
- The three winning teams will be selected in the spring of 2026.
- The members of the winning teams will be awarded with a summer job and a study trip to London, during which they will make their ideas into reality.
- No costs will fall upon the participants of Spring. The Spring-team will take care of all necessary arrangements.
